Healthy Kids Making a Difference One Step at a Time
Community Project plan:
Garden City Hospital and the Garden City School System are teaming up to instill the values of a healthy lifestyle in the elementary students of our community.
Our program promotes good eating habits, exercise and good citizenship through a fundraiser designed to benefit our entire community with an improvement to a city park.
Each child will be taught how to use their own Gordon Chevrolet pedometer and log their daily steps, while realizing their contribution to our community through the pledges they receive.
Program events are planned for the spring of 2010. The children can’t do it alone, they need your support. This is truly a community effort, please consider becoming a sponsor.
Goal: Raise $40,000 for new play equipment in a city park

- May 1 Downtown Kids Walkaround sponsored by the DDA
- May 11 McEducators Day at Garden City McDonald's from 3pm-8pm (15% of sales given to the Healthy Kids project)
- June 5 Celebration Wrap-Up in City Park sponsored by Garden City Chamber of Commerce
