Financial ServicesAfter discharge, patients receive a bill at home outlining services such as room charges, medications, lab tests, diagnostic imaging services, and other expenses necessary for medical diagnosis and treatment. Other bills from physicians may also follow for their separate services such as performing examinations, surgical procedures, and interpretations of laboratory tests and x-rays. If you have questions about your hospital bill, or need to discuss alternate methods of payment, please call 1-888-346-3668.

Charity Care
Garden City Hospital is proud to continue its not-for-profit mission with the introduction of the Charity Care Program. As a vital part of the community, Garden City Hospital recognizes the needs of our diverse community.  We want all patients to receive necessary medical care regardless of their financial status.

Our Charity Care program gives prorated discounts to qualified uninsured or underinsured patients who are not eligible for medical assistance through the state or county health insurance programs AND who are within 200 percent of the federally established poverty guidelines.

Patients may be eligible for Charity Care if they have no insurance or high co-pays/deductibles associated with their insurance. Medicare patients without secondary insurance may also be eligible for the Charity Care program.

If you think you may be eligible for this program, or would like information regarding alternative methods to pay for your medical expenses, please contact our financial counselor at 734-458-4436.  You may contact us by e-mail at janticuar@gchosp.org. All questions will be treated courteously and confidentially.

Insurance
Your best source of information about your insurance coverage is the insurance company that issued your health insurance policy, or your employer if you are covered under a group policy through work. In all cases, you, not the insurer, are the responsible party for payment of hospital and medical services provided. Although you may have health insurance, you are responsible for your bills. The Garden City Hospital Registration Department is available to assist you if you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage. The Registration Department is located off the main lobby, and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  To speak to a representative about your insurance coverage, call 734-458-4461.
